Through out life, many romances don't pan out and they become a story of what could have been. The Moth That Fell In Love With The Moon was originally drafted in an attempt to rekindle a romance but was finally completed in the process of finding closure and moving on.
The main focus of this story is focusing on the famous phrase "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" said by Natsume Sōseki, the Japanese novelist. Which was supposedly used to tell someone you love them in a poetic and secretive way. Alongside the historical meanings found within the Hawthorn tree, that represents a blessing between the connection of two people.
These combined with generalised symbolism of transformation during the metamorphosis process of moths and the symbolism of stars being used to guide those who find themselves lost, shows a story about how life can get in the way of love.
